is a sun
lighting the day.
Yellow is a banana
in my stomach. Yellow
is my mother
forever cleaning
in the kitchen.
Yellow is cold
as gold. It is a rock
a child paints. A yellow blanket
wrapping a baby. It is
the smell of vegetable soup
and birthday cake. Yellow
is a duckling swimming
when the sun is setting.
