Interfaith Child Development
Inspiring Children to Grow, Discover and Develop a Love of Learning
Interfaith Child Development Center inspires children to grow, discover and develop a love of learning. Our challenging educational environment encourages and nurtures creativity, individuality and compassion. With a professional teaching staff and a school nurse, we provide a safe, secure, welcoming and educational environment for your child to grow. Our programs are designed to meet the needs of our growing community. We offer a wide variety of extra-curricular activities, including Library, Science Lab, Outdoor Nature Classroom, Spanish and Movement Education.
18 Month/Toddler Child Development
This program includes indoor and outdoor play, art projects and simple directed academic activities. Our goal at this very young age is to provide toddlers with a clean, safe, healthy and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Our Toddler program focuses on activities developing hand eye coordination, building fine and gross motor skills, encouraging language development and beginning problem solving.
Pre-School Child Devlopment
This program continues the Toddler program skills with a greater focus on enhancing pre-math and pre-reading skills while encouraging creativity and having fun.
Pre-Kindergarten Child Development
The goal of this program is to prepare our Pre-Ker’s for Kindergarten. These students focus on pre-reading skills, emergent reading, pre-writing, math and Spanish in addition to fine arts and music and movement.
Transition to Kindergarten
This program is designed for the Kindergarten age children that miss the cutoff date from the state or for children that need an extra year.
Child Development Enrichment Programs
Child Development Program Details
Spanish is offered to children 3+ once a week. Children will learn Spanish songs, numbers, shapes, basic conversation and fun seasonal activities that are celebrated in different countries. This afternoon club is offered from 12:30-2pm and student must be currently enrolled at the school.
Music and Movement is offered separately to 3 and 4+ year old children once a week. Children are exposed to instruments of the orchestra and some of the most distinguished composers and their masterpieces. They will learn familiar songs and plays. We utilize all of our outdoor areas for movement and stretching. Children will do yoga, rhythm, bells and more. In order to participate in this afternoon club, all children must be enrolled at the school.
Art is a weekly afternoon club where children will learn and execute different art techniques with a variety of supplies and items. They will replicate well known masterpieces and briefly learn about the artist. Children will also paint outdoors with nature objects making art a fun experience. To participate in this club, children must be enrolled in the school and be 4 years old.
Dance: Ballet and tumbling instruction are available through a local dance studio. Lessons occur once a week at the studio for all prekindergarten girls with Interfaith providing transportation and once a week at the school for 3-year-old girls. This program is available to students in our Full Day and School Day 4-year-old programs.
Soccer Shots is an on-campus sports activity available to students enrolled in our 3 and 4-year-old programs.
Taekwondo is a sport activity available to Interfaith students on campus. Your child must be enrolled in our 3- or 4-year-old programs.
OUR SCHOOL-AGE CHILD DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM
Our program provides care for students in Kindergarten through fourth grade. We provide transportation from some of the Woodlands area public schools. The children are provided a home-away-from-home atmosphere while at Interfaith Child Development Center.
While here, the children engage in diverse activities, including arts and crafts, cooking games and wonderful social interaction with friends and peers. Also offered are opportunities to experience activities such as field trips or interacting with invited guests to our school.
Children in this program can attend school from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., on holidays when CISD is closed but our school is open.
This program will enable your child to have a spot in our Full Day Program during the summer, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
